Roman Road Research & Excavations
Excavations on the Winchester - London Roman Road will occur over Bank Holiday Weekends from
Easter to August in 2013, near Alton and Alresford in Hants. There may be some weekends in September depending on the harvest.

Part of the CBA Festival of Archaeology on Sat 13 July 2013 a meeting will be held on the findings on this Roman Road at Milburys pub, Salt Lane, Beauworth SO24 0PB, SU570 245. There will be talks and maps viewed, lunch at the pub, with field visits in the afternoon. You pay for your lunch at the pub (from £5 sandwiches) - booking is needed for the pub. (Unbooked can come on the field visits but may not be room in the meeting room). Start at 1030am in the Milbury pub car park, when we will visit nearby remains, where it was realised from air photography that this Road was a multi-lane highway. Pub opens at 11am when we will start the meeting in the pub.
